Terms and privacy

What we keep, where it goes, and how long we hold it — written plainly.

Draft, not yet reviewed by a lawyer

The facts here come from the actual code and configuration, and the numbers are read live. Whether it is legally sufficient has not been checked yet. It will be reviewed before we treat it as final.

Who runs this

The people who build and run EveryEdu. Company details go here once reviewed. Until then, reach us with “Beta feedback” at the top of any page (inside the menu on a phone) — every message is read.

What we keep

If you make an account, we keep the following. Without an account we keep only the technical data and cookies described below, and the questions you answer as a guest (deleted after three days).

  • Account — your email, your name, your password (turned into a bcrypt hash that cannot be turned back; we do not know the original), interface language, the language you are learning, your daily goal.
  • Sign-up details — your country, and when you agreed to the Terms and Privacy Policy (and which version). The country is used only for service statistics and is never shown to other learners. We do not collect date of birth, phone number or address.
  • Learning — the questions you answered and whether you got them right, lectures you passed, highlights and notes, words you saved, level-test results, game scores.
  • Payments — your orders and amounts, your wallet balance and its history. We never keep card numbers — those go straight to our card payment provider, Airwallex, and we only receive the outcome.
  • If you teach — your bio, the languages you teach, your hourly rate, your timezone, and your payout account (bank, number, holder). The account is kept in a separate table from the one public pages read.
  • Technical — your IP address. We use it to stop one place hammering the site and we glance at it once to guess your interface language. When an administrator changes something, the administrator's own IP is recorded with that action.

We do not ask for a national ID number, and we have not installed any advertising trackers.

Where it goes

Nowhere except the places below.

  • Airwallex — card payments. The payment form and your card details are handled by them.
  • Google — only if you sign in with Google. We receive your email and name.
  • Cloudflare — every request to this site passes through them (speed and protection), so access records exist on their side too.
  • dictionaryapi.dev — when you look up an English word. Your browser calls them directly, so the word you looked up and your IP go to them. Our server cannot fetch it on your behalf, which is why it works this way.

We do not hand your learning records or payment history to anyone for advertising or analytics.

How long we hold it

For as long as you keep your account. Payment records may have to be kept separately for a period the law sets. Questions answered as a guest are deleted after three days. Unused audio files are deleted after ninety days.

Tell us if you want your account closed. Your progress, points and bookings are deleted with it, so we confirm and do it by hand. Any unspent cash in your wallet is refunded to you before the account is closed.

What things cost

The courses and questions we wrote, the practice, the games and learning Hangul are all free.

What costs money: the subscription ($3.99 for a month or $21.99 for a year, with no automatic renewal), courses an instructor opens, and one-to-one lessons with a teacher.

We hold the lesson fee and send it to the teacher after the lesson. Our share is 20%, and the rate at the moment you booked is the rate for that lesson.

Refunds

For courses: full refund until you first clear a paid lecture. After that we cannot, because you have already received the material.

For lessons: full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start, half if you cancel at least 2 hours before. After that we cannot — your teacher kept that time free. The hours are counted from the moment you cancel.

For the subscription: full refund within 14 days of paying, no questions asked. After that it runs to its end date and does not renew.

If the teacher cancels or does not show up, or our technology fails, you get everything back regardless of when.

Refunds go to your wallet as cash — money you can spend here or have paid back while it is unspent. Tell us if you would rather have it returned to your card.

What we ask of you

What you write and upload is yours. Do not post other people’s work as your own, do not harass anyone, and do not share an account. The same goes for redistributing course material wholesale.

Asking us things

If you have a question about any of this, or want to see or delete what we hold, tell us through “Beta feedback” at the top of any page (inside the menu on a phone). Say what you need; we answer from the account you are signed in with.
